What is variolation?
A method utilized by the Chinese and Turks to induce immunity by inhaling dried crusts from smallpox pus or inserting them into small cuts.
Also used in sub-Saharan Africa, brought to America by slavery

What is herd immunity
A buffing capability that confer immunity to unimmunized due to a critical mass of individual who are immunized .
Herd immunity protects those who have weakened immune systems or cannot be vaccinated.
