Thomas Test
Positive = decreased ROM in hip or knee
Indicates tightness of rectus femoris, or iliopsoas or sartorius or TFL/glutes based on position of leg.
Ober’s Test
Positive = spring end feel; leg does not lower.
Indicates tight IT band or TFL
FABER Test
Flexion, abduction, external rotation.
Positive = decreased ROM or knee does not drop
Indicates tight hip capsule, iliopsoas, or other hip internal rotators
FADIR Test
Flexion, adduction, internal rotation.
Positive = decreased ROM or pain
Indicates hip impingement, tight iliopsoas, possible anterior labral tear.
Adductor Squeeze Test
Positive = pain in pubic symphysis
Indicates pubic symphysis pathology (ie. strain, tendinosis, tendinopathy).
Leg Length Test
Positive = leg length difference >1.5cm
Indicates true leg length discrepancy
