- it prohibits them from avoiding (negative reinforcement) their phobia and throughout continuous exposure, anxiety levels decrease.

A
- a person’s fear response has a time limit (as well as the underlying adrenaline)
- as adrenaline decreases a new stimulus response can be learned
- the feared stimulus is now associated with a non- anxious response.
