1) moves qi, reduces food stag= gentler than Zhi Shi
more appropriate / weak/deficient Pt. digestive insufficiency, abd pain, distention
2) moves qi, trx phlegm (LU): cough/asthma/ sputum, goes to lower metal thru LI
3) increases BP, stimulates HT, which is why it moves food stag
Contra: diuretic drugs
HTN- if going to use alone; in a formula its ok- can balance it out

4) REDUCES HANGOVER (=damage done by alcohol)=damp. Moves LV qi. AIDS ANGINA
