Hemodynamics and Coagulation Flashcards
Pulmonary Edema
Dialated alveolar blood vessels
Associated with L Heart Failure following MI
Increased AST and ALT
Associated with R Heart Failure
Congestion in the liver also leads to “Nutmeg Liver”
Peripheral Edema
Associated with R Heart Failure
Virchow’s triad of Thrombi Formation
Abnormal blood flow
Endothelial Injury
Hypercoagulable state
Lines of Zahn
The layering effect between red and white thrombi
Typically form in the heart and aorta
Red Thrombi
Typically venous thrombi
Petichiae in association with immune disorder
Indicative of DIC
Unlikely to be significantly damaged by thrombus
Lungs, Small bowel, and Liver due to additional blood supply
Normal PTT, Normal PT, Normal Platelet Count with Petichiae and Menorrhagia or epistaxis
VonWillebrand’s Disease
