Mono presentation and diagnosis
- fever, sore throat, malaise, lymphadenopathy, 1/3 have strep pharyngitis
- presence of heterophile ab on Monospot test
Tumor lysis syndrome cause, labs, tx
due to rapid tumor cell death with chemo
- hyperkalemia, hyperphosphatemia, hyperuricemia
- can result in ARF
- prophylactic allopurinol and volume expansion (fluids)

autoimmune: pernicious anemia, hashimoto’s (10%)
non autoimmune: dietary, gastrectomy, bacterial overgrowth, IBD affecting terminal ileum
