What is the “lub dub” sound of the heart?
“lub” is the sound of the atrioventricular valves closing, “dub” is the sound of the semilunar valves closing

What is the normal range for heart rate?
60-100 bpm
What are pulse points?
where an artery is close to the skin
Where are three pulse points?
carotid arteries (neck)
radial arteries (wrists)
brachial arteries (arms)
What is an ECG?
electrocardiogram, a recording of the electrical events (changes) during a cardiac cycle (heartbeat)
What is the P Wave?
depolarization of the atria (atrial contraction, systole)
What is the QRS Complex?
depolarization of the ventricles (ventricular contraction sysole)
What is the T Wave?
repolarization of the ventricles
What is tachycardia?
fast heart rate
What is bradycardia?
slow heart rate
