Framingham criteria for CHF?
Major: Pnd, Rales, Alo, Neck vein distension, CVP > 16 cm H20, Cardiomegaly on X-Ray, S3, Hepatojugular reflux, Weight loss > 4,5 kg in 5 days in response to treatment
Minor:Bilateral ankle edema, Nocturnal cough, DOE, hepatomegaly, Pleural effusion, decrease in vital capacity by 1/3, HR > 120 bpm
What is EF formula?
100 % x SV (LVEDV-LVESV) : LVEDV
What is HF-REF?
HF with EF <36%
What is HF-PEF?
HF with EF >50% and LV not dilated
synonym: diastolic HF
prognosis: better than REF
What factors predispose to HF-PEF?
- female
- fat
- old
What is the likelihood of HF in patients with normal ECG?
acute presentation <35 pg/mL)
What condition known to increase the secretion of natriuretic peptide?
