Types of Asbestos

A

Chrysotile (white asbestos) – most common form, found in roofs, walls, car brake linings, pipe insulation, banned in 1999, least dangerous of three
Amosite (brown asbestos) – found in cement sheets, AIB, ceiling tiles, banned in 1985
Crocidolite (blue asbestos) – insulate steam engines, spray on coatings, cement products, banned in 1985
