A
  1. Identify the hazard - eg. chemicals/equipment
  2. Identify who may be at risk
  3. Evaluate the risk - will it occur only if it’s misused or is the hazard a potential risk with every use?
  4. Control the risk - eg. staff training/policies/health monitoring/remove the hazard
  5. Record the risk assessment fundings to prove compliance and ensure all staff are full informed
  6. Review the assessment process to ensure no injuries occur

A

Radiation Protection Advisor, usually a medical physicist who is appointed in writing by the dental practice and is available to give advice to staff and public safety in relation to both sets of regulations.

A

Radiation protection supervisor which is a designated person within the dental practice who can assess risks and ensure precautions are taken to minimise them - usually a senior dentist.
