What are the four sinus Chambers

A

Maxillary sinus found behind the cheeks.

Ethmoid sinus found between the eyes behind the bridge of the nose

These develop shortly after birth.

Frontal sinus developed around the age of 7 - located in the forehead over the Brow.

Sphenoid sinus developed during adolescence located behind ethmoid and eyes deep in the face.

A

What are grommets

A

This is when small Tubes are inserted into the ear drums to help drain fluid.

Kids can swim two weeks after having them fitted.

Kids are not advised to swim underwater while they have grommets in.

Hypothermia

A

Young babies are less able to compensate for changes in temperature, shivering increases metabolism and body heat.

Watch for blue or purple lips are darting of the skin around a baby’s mouth.

Watch pool temperature and air temperature
