Health and Safety Flashcards
What is a risk assessment?
Identifying hazards, who is at risk and the likelihood of harm.
What is a method statement?
Outlines how work will be done and risks mitigated. Should include contractor’s PI details.
Who oversees health and safety in the UK?
The Health and Safety Executive.
What is the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974?
Gives a duty to employers to ensure safety of employees. Includes risk assessments and reporting accidents.
What is the RIDDOR 1995?

Give an example of when you have advised on a health and safety matter.
Unit 6 Atlantic Street - screws sticking out of the floor. Advised client they should be removed and until that was possible, spray painted.
