Q

What is the main cause of diabetes?

A

In people without diabetes, the pancreas usually produces a hormone called insulin which controls the sugar levels in the blood. When food is digested and enters the bloodstream, insulin moves glucose out of the blood and into cells to be broken down into energy. With diabetes there is either not enough insulin to do so or it doesnt work properly.
