Cervical artery dissection
65 yo female comes in w/new HA that is B/L and achy. Also has night sweats, weight loss and jaw pain.
Temporal (giant cell) arteritis
Obese 35 yo female presents w/dull HA that is worse when she lays down and states that she can hear her heartbeat in her ear.
Pseudotumor cerebri
Pt presents to ER w/HA that began 1 hour ago and states that it is “the worst headache of my life.”
Subarachnoid hemorrhage
Pt presents w/aphasia, right sided weakness, right sided sensory loss, visual gaze defect and gaze preference.
Left MCA ischemic stroke
Pt presents w/left hemifield spatial neglect, left sided weakness, left sided sensory loss, visual gaze defect and gaze preference.
Right MCA ischemic stroke
Pt presents w/contralateral leg weak & numbness.
Anterior cerebral artery infarct
Pt presents w/left superior quadrant of vision lost and alexia w/o agraphia.
Posterior cerebral artery infarct
Pt presents with left sided numbness & right sided clumsiness.
Posterior circulation infarct
Infarct in deep gray nuclei, pons or cerebellum.
Hypertensive hemorrhage
