What are sections of Motor Area in Head Acupuncture, and what are they for?
- Upper 5th of Motor Line = Lower limb & trunk area (for paralysis of opposite side lower limb) 2. 2nd and 3rd 5ths of Motor Area line = Upper limb area (for paralysis of opposite side upper limb) 3. Lower 2 5ths of Motor Area Line = Facial Area, including Speech #1 (for upper motor neuron paralysis of face on opposite side, motor aphasia, dribbling saliva, impaired speech)
Where is the Sensory Area for Head Acupuncture?
A line parallel and 1.5 cm posterior to the Motor line.
What are sections of Sensory Area in Head Acupuncture, and what are they for?
- Upper 5th of Sensory Line = lower limb, head and trunk area (for low back pain on opposite side, numbness/parrsthesia in that area, occipital HA, stiff neck, vertigo) 2. 2nd and 3rd 5ths of Sensory Line = upper limb area (for pain/numbness/paresthesia of opposite arm) 3. Lower 2 5ths of Sensory Area line = facial area (for migraine, trigeminal neuralgia, toothache on opposite side, arthritis of temporomandibular joint).
Where is Leg motor and sensory area in Head Acupuncture and what is it used for?
Parallel with midline of head, 1 cm beside midpoint (bilaterally), about 3cm long (for paralysis/pain/numbness of lower limb, acute low back sprain, nocturia, uterine prolapse)
Where is chorea and tremor control area in Head Acupuncture and what is it used for?
Parallel with and 1.5cm anterior to the Motor area line (for Syndenham’s chorea, tremors, palsy and related syndromes)
Where is blood vessel dilations and constriction area in Head Acupuncture and what is it used for?
Parallel with and 1.5 cm anterior to chorea and tremor control area (for superficial edema, hypertension)
Where is Vertigo and hearing area in Head Acupuncture and what is it used for?
Horizontal line 1.5 m above and centered on apex of ear, 4 cm in length (for tinnitus, vertigo, diminished hearing, Menier’s syndrome)
Where is Speech #2 in Head Acupuncture and what is it used for?
Vertical line 2 cm beside tuber parietale on back of head, 3 cm in length (for nominal aphasia)
Where is Speech #3 in Head Acupuncture and what is it used for?
Overlaps Vertigo and hearing area at midpoint and continues 3 cm posteriorly (for receptive aphasia)
Where is Voluntary movement area in Head Acupuncture and what is it used for?
With the tuber parietale origin, 3 needles can be inserted inferiorly, anteriorly and posteriorly to a length of 3 cm. Between them, the 3 lines will form a 40 degree angle. (For Apraxia.)
Where is the Vision area in Head Acupuncture and what is it used for?
One cm lateral to external occipital protuberance, parallel to midline of head, 4 cm in length extending upward. (For cortical blindness.)
