What are the HCPC?

A

Provides legal regulations since 2009. Used to be BPS. They protect the public and ensure good practice. Can be prosecuted and recieve a fine if not adhering

A

Clinicians must listen to the needs of service users and carers and consider their needs and wishes, language needs must be met and relevent infor must be given

A

Only delegate work to someone who has the knowledge, skills and experience needed to carry it out safely and effectively

A

Professionals expected to take part in and document regular training to jeep their knowledge and practice up to date

A

Any issues to health must not affect job. Must provide info every 2yrs. Must inform council if become unable to do job due to health

A

A set of specific expectations is set out for each area in psychology that individuals need to keep to ensure they practice effectively

What does conduct, ethics and performance refer to?

A

Should always work in the best interests of the user. Stay within scope of practice and refer patient to others if incompetent.

A

Sets out minimum qualifications needed = masters in field of psychology you wish to work in, sets out standard for training courses
