Who is Umm Salama?

• She was one of the earliest converts to Islam.
• She and her husband were among the first to emigrate to Abyssinia.

When did she marry again and with who?

• When her husband died after becoming injured at Uhad
• Abu Bakr proposed to her, then Umar.
• She rejected all as she said nobody was better than her husband so she didn’t want to marry again and then the proposal came from the prophet.
• She accepted the prophet’s proposal and they were married in 4AH.

How did Umm Salama accompany the prophet?

• She took part in many expeditions; at Hudaibiyah the prophet told the companions to offer sacrifice, but they didn’t do it, then Umm Salama told the Prophet to do the sacrifice himself then the companions would follow him.

How is Umm Salama comparable to Aisha?

• Among the wives of the prophet Hazrat Umm Salama was second only to Hazrat Aisha in learning.
• She was very keen to learn hadiths.
• She is the narrator of 378 Ahadis.
