- She returned to Madinah escorted by a companion of the Prophet - Sawan bin Muattal who had found her waiting alone in the desert.
- Amid, the ensuing gossip, A quranic revelation(Surah Al-Nur) cleared her reputation and proclaimed her innocence.
- The surah also established the punishment for false accusations of adultery. This led to verses about the practice of Tayammum(dry ablution) to be revealed on her account.

A
- Companions would come to her to seek guidance in religious matters.
- She narrated 2210 Ahadith from the prophet Pbuh.
- She was critical of the third Caliph, Hazrat Uthman but opposed his violent death.
- During the caliphate of Hazrat Ali (R.A), together with the companions - Zubayr and Talha R.A, Aisha mobilized opposition to Hazrat Ali R.A for not calling Hazrat Uthman’s killers to accountability culminating in the Battle of Camel 656AD in which her side lost.
