A big wall that stops waves hitting land

Very strong and protects buildings.

A barrier that stops sand moving along the beach.

What is rock armour?
Big rocks placed on the beach to absorb wave energy.

Adding sand to the beach to make it higher and wider.

Looks natural and protects land.

Needs doing often and costs money

Planting grass and putting fences on dunes.

Natural and cheap.

Slow and easily damaged.
