What does the opponens digiti minimi do?
Draws 5th metacarpal anteriorly and rotates it, bringing little finger (5th digit) into opposition with thumb

What do the palmar interosseous muscles do?
Adduct 2nd, 4th, and 5th digits toward axial line and assists the lumbricals in flexing metacarpophalangeal joints and extending interphalangeal joints

Ulnar Nerve

Adjacent sides of two metacarpals (as bipennate muscles)
Insertion of the dorsal interosseous muscles

What do the dorsal interosseous muscles do?
Abduct 2nd – 4th digits from axial line and act with lumbricals to flex metacarpophalangeal joints and extend interphalangeal joints

Ulnar Nerve

Tendons of flexor digitorum profundus (palmar side of hand)
Insertion of the Lumbricals
Lateral sides of extensor expansion of 2nd – 4th digits (dorsal side of hand)
What do the lumbricasl do?
Finger flexion at the metacarpophalangeal jointand finger extension at the interphalangeal joint
What innervates the lumbricals?
Median and Ulnar Nerves
