Wrist fracture along the forearm of the distal radius
Treated with a cast, unless it’s displaced, which requires reduction
Colle’s Fracture
Caused by breaking a fall with outstretched arms when on a hard surface
Fracture of the distal radius bone

Smith’s Fracture
Cause by falling on flexed wrists
Fracture of the scaphoid bone
Treated with a cast
Scaphoid Fracture
Often caused by FOOSH (fall on outstretched hand)
Fracture of one or more metacarpal bones
Treated by immobilizing the hand or using a splint
Boxer’s Fracture
Caused by punching something with a closed fist
Inflammation of extensor pollicis brevis and abductor pollicis longus tendons
Treated by immobilizing the thumb or using a splint
De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis
Causes are not known, but generally believed to be related to repetitive use and strain
Is the necrosis of the lunate bone
Depends on the stage of the disease; if the bone is still mostly there, revascularization is usually attempted, but if it’s disintegrated, wrist fusion is usually the only option
Keinbock’s Disease
Exact cause is unknown, but genetics are believed to play a role
