Three layers of the hair?
Cuticle - outermost layers of the hair. Protects the interior
Cortex- middle layer, and gives hair most of its stretch and elasticity.
Medulla- innermost layer
Primary colors?
Red, yellow , blue
Secondary color?
Green, orange, violet
Obtained by mixing equal parts of two primary colors
Temporary hair color?
Makes only a physical change, does not penetrate the cuticle layer, only a coating of color is deposited which may be removed after shampooing
Semipermanent Haircolor?
No life, deposit only, stains the cuticle layer but small enough molecules to diffuse out of the hair during shampooing . Usually paste 4-6 weeks
Demipermanent
No lift, deposit only.
Good for :
Introducing a client to a color
Covering gray
Refreshing faded permanent on the mid shaft- to the ends
Permanent color
Lighten, deposit only color in a single process.
What is the pH of developers?
Between 2.5- 4.5
