a malignant proliferation of lymphocytes characterised by the presence of the Reed-Sternberg cell
clinical features of Hodgkin’s lymphoma
typically presents in young adults with cervical or supraclavicular non-tender lymphadenopathy
alcohol-induced pain in lymph nodes
inherited antithrombin III deficiency typical presentation
venous thromboembolism in early childhood and a significant family history
generally have heparin resistance
role of antithrombin III
inactivates factor IIa, Xa, IXa, XIa
protein C deficiency
protein C is responsible for inactivating factors V and VIII
therefore increased risk of thrombosis
the less common thrombophilia but has an association with warfarin initiation so if that is in the Q its more likely to be this
