Q

What does Vatter do? What’s their added value?

A
  1. VATTER underwear is finest organic cotton dressed in a fashionable design.
  2. When talking about organic underwear, many people first think of unappealing underpants in off-white. We call them “passion killers”. They may be good for your ecological conscience, yet are anything but a feast for your eyes. With VATTER underwear we proof that things can be different and that the terms “organic” and “sexy” are not mutually exclusive. All our products are GOTS certified and thus sustainably produced. This pleases both your skin and your conscience. Since we also want to do something good for your eyes, we place great emphasis on design for our underwear.
  3. In addition, we believe that every successful company has a certain responsibility towards its environment. Therefore we use a portion of our revenues to support varying environmental or social projects. We call the whole thing VATTER – cotton with attitude.

Q

Whats GOTS?

A

The “Global Organic Textile Standard” was developed in 2008 with the aim to define world-wide recognized requirements that ensure organic status of textiles. This includes all steps, from harvesting of the raw materials, through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing up to labeling in order to provide a credible assurance to the end consumer. Textile processors and manufacturers are enabled to export their organic fabrics and garments with one certification accepted in all major markets.

GOTS divides textiles into two label-grades: Label-grade 1 is “organic”, label-grade 2 is “made with organic”. While at grade 2 at least 70% certified organic fibers must be used, at label-grade 1 it must be even 95%, for the product to be labeled as “organic”. All VATTER products meet the criteria for grade 1 and therefore proudly carry the “organic” seal.
