17
Q

How to describe where a child is in relation to centiles?

A

If exactly on the centile line, or within 1/2 of a space of the centile line - on the centile line, e.g: on the 91 st centile

If not - between centiles, e.g: between the 75th-91st centile

18
Q

How should falls/rises be described?

A

Multiples of centile spaces

19
Q

Bone age

Dynamic function tests

MRI brain, USS uterus

24
Q

6 different classifications of short stature causes?

A
  1. Genetic short stature (parents were also short) - they have normal bone age and there is no underlying endocrine abnormality
  2. Constitutional growth delay - late maturation causing short stature, usually with an unknown cause
  3. Dysmorphic syndromes
  4. Endocrine disorders
  5. Chronic disease
  6. Psychosocial deprivation
25
Q

Other features of constitutional growth delay?

A

May have a genetic short stature component

Tends to present around puberty with delayed onset

Also have delayed maturation and delayed bone age
