Collar grip break using sleeves

A
  1. Grab opponent’s sleeve with both hands.
  2. Extend away until your collar is taught.
  3. Step back and push both hands up in the same moment to break grip.

Sleeve grip break using knee

  1. Rotate wrist around and under to counter-grip your opponent’s sleeve, keeping their arm lower than your hips.
  2. With your opposite leg twist inward and place knee/shin on top of their grabbing forearm close to the hand.
  3. In the same movement, shoot knee down and straighten torso/extend back to break their grip.

Collar grip break using bare hands

A
  1. If your opponent has a collar grip on you, make ‘L’s’ with your forefingers and thumbs and bring them together to make a ‘U’ shape.
  2. Hook that underneath your opponent’s wrist and do a HARD push upwards or towards the opposite direction they have the grip.

Grip break if your opponent gets you in a one armed clinch

  1. If your opponent gets a clinch grip on you, immediately grasp their wrist in both hands and shove away (to the side their wrist is) to remove the grip. Do not lean too far back or get yourself off balance to expose yourself to the take down.
