200 native varieties, very few of which are grown elsewhere. Many capable of producing high-quality wines of both colors.
Where is the Naoussa PDO and what does it produce?
Macedonia (North of Greece) the best vineyards are planted with Xinomavro grape at 400 m altitude.
Wines have medium tawny color, high acidity and tannin, developing complex spicy aroma with age.
Where is the Nemea PDO and what does it produce?
North of the Peloponese. Vineyards between 300 and 900 m altitude planted with Agiorgitiko to produce rosé and red wines with red fruit and spicy flavors, high levels of smooth tannins and moderate acidity, affinity with new oak and age-worthy
Where is Santorini PDO and what does it produce?
Volcanic island in the Aegean sea. With strong winds calling for unique BASKET training method of Assyrtiko grape to make dry white wines with perfumes of citrus and stone fruit balanced with high acidity.
