graphical representation cons Flashcards
Systems diagrams
can be complicated
time consuming and confusing to draw
logarithmic diagrams
can be complicated to draw scale and read
if changes are small this can be hard to read of graphs’ particularly with bigger numbers.
time consuming to draw.
Polar graphs
can be hard to draw a suitable scale
hard to draw concentric circles
time consuming to draw if no template
can become cluttered in the middle if lots of directions
Scattergraphs
depending on values it can be hard to see a line of best fit
further testing is always needed sometimes a relationship is there just not very visible.
mistakes can be made if there is a large number of points close together
Dispersion diagrams
Can become a very crowded diagram
the spread or range doesnt tell you everything about a set of data
data must be in a form that can be placed on a number line
Bipolar analysis
Lots of crossovers can cause it to become hard to read and too crowded.
often better to add up totals and put them in other graphs.
using +2 and -2 makes it clearer on the bipolar but makes adding up totals a bit more complex.
Often the data gathered is subjective to opinion.
if too many areas are compared it can become very clustered.
Triangular graphs
Complicated to plot
Complicated to read
Time consuming to plot and read
