An INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENT regulating the production of refrigerants containing chlorine such as CFCs and HCFCs.

When was the production of equipment banned that contained HCFC refrigerant?

The last person in the disposal chain.
What is a “drop-in” refrigerant?
There is no such thing as a “drop-in” refrigerant. Topping off a system with a refrigerant that the appliance wasn’t designed to use or that hasn’t been retrofitted for is a violation of Federal law.
What must be done to an appliance before being retrofitted to use a different refrigerant?
Replace the compressor oil, metering device, filter drier and flush the system.
What is the law for “dry shipped” units?
They are illegal.
What are the penalties for EPA 608 violations?
Fines up to $44,539 per violation, per day, appear in Federal Court and lose your EPA 608 Certification.
