What is a Major Repair?
Any work involving removing the compressor, condenser, evaporator or auxiliary heat exchanger coil.
What is De-minimus?
A minor release of refrigerant while connecting or disconnecting refrigerant hoses.
What is Global Warming Potential?
The measurement of how much energy the emissions of 1 ton of a gas will absorb over a given period of time relative to 1 ton of CARBON DIOXIDE which has a rating of 1.
What is Ozone Depletion Potential?
The ability of a substance to destroy ozone in the stratosphere relative to R-11 which is a 1 on a scale of 0-1.
What is SNAP?
SNAP stands for Significant New Alternative Policies which is a program that identifies refrigerants with lower risks to human health and the environment.
What is Recovery?
To remove refrigerant from an appliance and store it in a recovery container without testing or cleaning it.
What is Recycle?
To remove refrigerant from an appliance and clean it for reuse in the same appliance or another appliance owned by the same customer.
What is Reclaim?
To reprocess refrigerant to new product specifications and to meet AHRI Standard 700 standards which can then be resold.
What is an Appliance?
A device that contains and uses refrigerant for household or commercial purposes including all air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
What is Dehydrate?
To remove water from a refrigeration system.
What is Evacuation?
To pull a vacuum, generally to at least 500 microns.
What is Comfort Cooling?
Controls the temperature and humidity for PEOPLE.
What is Commercial Refrigeration?
Controls the temperature for PRODUCTS.
What is Industrial Process?
Controls the temperature for PRODUCTION.
