What is negotiating and evoking?
understanding what the problem is as the client sees it
Why do you use negotiating and evoking?
evokes possibilities and resources from people
What is broad vs specific?
- move from broad and general ideas to what the specific goals are
Why do we use broad vs specific?
to be clear abour small signs of change and create goals that can be influenced and are changable
What is outcome vs activity?
outcome - overall goal
activity - is the actions needed to achieve the outcome
What is prioritising?
- clients come up with a range of hopes and goals needed to be prioritised
Why do we use prioritising?
to recognise priorities, including those that come later on
Why do we use goals with substance?
- unless it is going to make some change or difference it is not helpful
- people apply themselves more to harder goals
Why do we use realistic goals?
challenge goals that may be set too high and make sure that client has access to resources to be able to realistically achieve it
What are sustainable goals?
The decisions that people make are on going (long term)
Why do we use goaling that is congrent with values?
Making sure that they are consistent with values and what they want
