specific- the goal should be clear and exact and it should reflect the performer’s position and sport

measurable- goal should be quantifiable so progress can be assessed

achievable- performer must be able to achieve/ complete their goal within the time frame set
R
realistic- the goal should be in the performer’s reach from where they currently are, to ensure sustained effort and motivation
T
time bound- a set period must be stated for when they want to complete the goal for to allow progress to be tracked + to sustain motivation
E
evaluate- gauge whether goal was was achieved or not ( or if learning plateau was overcome) and the reasons why or why not progress was made
means effective strategies are used for future goals
R
redo- they should repeat their efforts for goals that haven’t been met
redo in order to maintain drive and motivation
