Call
A notification of a working session (eg. Rehearsal call, Photo call)
Choreography
The art of designing the moves, pace and flow of a dance or any other rehearsed movement
Cue
The command to technical departments for an operation OR a signal that indicates another action should follow
Cue to cue
Cutting out action and dialogue between cues during a technical rehearsal to save time
Curtain call
End of a performance, when the actors acknowledge the applause, bowing
De-rig
Process of removing the lanterns and cabling, returning the venue to its normal state or preparing for a new show
Dress rehearsal
A full rehearsal with all technical elements brought together, final version
Get-out
Moving an entire production out of the venue
Interval
Break between sections of a performance
Rehearsal
A session when actors are called to work through some scenes in private
Tech
Short for Technical Rehearsal
Technical Rehearsal
First time the show is rehearsed in venue with lighting, scenery, sound and sometimes costumes
Walk through
After set has been built, actors and crew go through moves to identify any potential problems
Warm up
Prepares the actor’s body by exercising muscles, stretching limbs and focusing completely on the theatre
