Rising action
The events that build up the pace in a plot/drama
Scene
A subdivision of a play
Script
The text of a play or musical- also containing stage directions
Setting
The place the action in the scene or play is set
Soliloquy
Lines delivered by an actor on stage as if to themselves
Stage directions
Instructions given by the author on how the play should be staged
Stereotype
A role that has set characteristics, easily recognisable and sometimes exaggerated
Stock character
A role with set characteristics that may be used frequently
Structure
The way a piece of drama is put together
Subplot
In narratives this refers to a secondary plot or storyline
Subtext
Refers to the idea of other meanings behind what is said and done
