Neo-liberals believe globalisation holds positive impact as the worldwide explanation of the capitalist free market leads to global economic growth and the spread of western values. As globalisation continues, the production of wristband will eventually trickle down to the whole population bringing higher standards of living for all
Outline the Marxist perspective on globalisation
They see globalisation under a negative light as according to schmupeter globalisation less to polarisation whereby the rich get richer and the poor get poorer as it has mainly furthered the interest of TNCs and has led to the emergence of the transnational capitalist class.
Outline the transformalationist view view on globalisation
Transformalationists, such as Cohen and Kennedy argue that glaboisation can be controlled to promote development. They believe that there is no homogenous culture imposed through globalisation rather a new hybrid of cultures (glocalisation). They also believe that particularly cultural globalisation can transform old hierarchies of north/south and first/third world hierarchies.
