A word used to describe a process which has been going on for a very long time.

Through communication and transport advancements.
How did the internet aid globalisation?
When it was created in 1983, it became easier for people to communicate with others.
What happened to businesses and the economy through globalisation?
Business operate internationally and the economy is now global.
What happens when countries are excluded from the process?
Suffer great inequalities.
What did Giddens claim about globalisation and human history?
If human history was the equivalent to a 24-hour day, not much would’ve happened in the first 23 hours and 50 minutes.
What does Wiseman say about the term ‘globalisation’?
Can be misused and misunderstood.
What is the main issue with globalisation?
Some say it is a positive thing, others say it is negative and results in inequality.
What is the problem with globalisation being assumed to be a positive process?
This is not always the case. Globalisation can actually be negative and exclude people.
What is the problem with the assumption that globalisation happens everywhere at an even pace?
It occurs at different rates in different places. For example, in less developed countries, digital communication may not be used.
What is the issue with globalisation being assumed to be only economic, political or cultural?
Globalisation also impacts different areas of people’s social life also in many ways.
