Why do migrants from China come to the USA?
1.6 million Chinese immigrants.
Chinese foreign born are better educated and less likely to live in poverty than the immigrant population.
Chinese immigrant men are less likely to participate in the labour force than other immigrant men.
Nearly half of Chinese foreigners had a Bachelors degree or higher.
Why do migrants from Philippines come to USA?
In 2016, more than 1.9 million Filipinos lives in the United States.
After US annexation of Philippines in 1889, Filipinos migrated to the US to study or to fill agricultural jobs, primarily in California and Hawaii.
What are the reasons why the USA is attractive to immigrants?
- The positive immigration policy and possibility of gaining a Green Card (becoming a permanent resident).
