what is morbidity?
illness and reporting of disease
what is mortality?
the death of people
what is attack rate?
the number of cases of a disease diagnosed in an area divided by the total population over the period of epidemic
what is infant mortality?
the number of deaths of children under the age of 1 year
what is case mortality?
the number of people divided by the disease divided by the number of those diagnosed as having the disease
what is crude death rate?
the number of deaths per 1,000 per year
what are non-communicable diseases?
a medical condition or disease that is by definition non-transmissiable among people
what are communicable diseases?
infectious diseases that can be passed on e.g aids
