What are the sunnah actions of wudhu called?
The sunnah actions in WUDU are considered Sunnah Muakkadah
The sunnah actions in ghusl are not considered Sunnah Muakkadah
Why is sunnah actions of WUDU called sunnah Muakkadah but The sunnah actions in ghusl are not considered Sunnah Muakkadah?
Can’t reach the level of Sunnah Muakkadah from something the Prophet (saw) did in private

What is the prophet method of ghusl
- Wash the hands, private parts and
remove the impurity from the body
2.Perform Wudhu (without washing feet)
- Wash the entire body Rinse the mouth and sniff water in the nose
- Step aside and wash feet
What is the fara’idh actions of ghusl
- Rinsing mouth
- Rinsing nose
- Washing the entire body with the purpose of worshipping Allah
If a person had plats/ plaits/ braids but they had sex would they have to do ghusl?
Yes woman has to do ghusl but they can leave the braids in. But to ensure the head is washed she needs to throw 3 handfuls of water in her head and pour water over her entire body.
Umm Salama reported:
I said: Messenger of Allah, I am a woman who has closely plaited hair on my head; should I undo it for taking a bath, because of sexual intercourse? He (the Holy Prophet) said: No, it is enough for you to throw three handfuls of water on your head and then pour water over yourself, and you shall be purified.
What about men with braids?
Same ruling to woman braids apply
But if they have braid in beard there is no exception
Give the sunnah actions of ghusl
1Making a niyyah (intention)
2. Reciting Bismillah
3. Rubbing the body whilst washing
4. Performing ghusl like the Prophet (saw) did
5. Wash three times
6. Wash from the right side
What is the mustahab actions of ghusl
- Not facing the qiblah
- Not using excessive water (or too little)
- To bathe in a private place
- To remain silent
- To use a cloth/towel after ghusl
- To hasten covering the body up after ghusl
Give the makrooh acts of ghusl
To face the qibla in ghusl
To speak without need while one’s awrah is uncovered
To use excessive amounts of water or to use too less
To recite du’as and adhkar
