Explain what happened briefly when Washington captured Boston
British tried to end American siege at battle of bunker hill. Washington bombarded the city with canons and the British left in March 1776. He brought order and discipline to his army

He wrote a pamphlet called common sense attacking British rule and called for complete independence. Many Americans agreed with him and wanted independence

Thomas Jefferson wrote the declaration and it was passed in 1776 on July 4th.
