Arms at sides, arms over head, hands pressed to sides, lean forward

Nipples: size and shape, direction pointing, rashes or ulcerations, discharge
Breast Exam Palpation
Patient supine, use pads of three fingers in rotary motion to press against chest wall. Check for:
Consistency: young more elastic, pregnant more lobular, aged more granular and stringy
Induration
Tenderness
Nodules
Palpate each nipple
Palpaten lymphatics including axillary, supraclavicular, infraclavicular
Benign nodules, < 30 yo (>2 cm = surgery)
fibroadenoma
