Is there any recent case law you have read recently?
Allianz Insurance vs University of Exeter (2023) – Second World War bomb safely disposed of but destroyed some university buildings, High Court ruled invalid insurance claim as bomb was result of war which is excluded from insurance claims. Now at Court of Appeal.
Are there any recent legislation you are aware of?
Biodiversity Net Gain obligations now mandatory for developers. 10%
What are LSH’s short and long-term goals?
Short-term – profitability and growing teams, such as valuation, which are more stable in tougher market conditions.
Long-term – following the PlanetMark framework to become net carbon zero by 2030.
RICS opened a number of consultations in recent months, what are likely to come our way?
-Increasing the CPD requirement to 30 with 20 hours being trusted learning.
-Mandatory topics e.g. ethics, sustainability
