Pursuit definition
Attempt by a police officer in an authorized emergency vehicle to apprehend one or more occupants by someone who evade by ignoring the attempt to stop or increasing speeds
Control of vehicle
No officer shall operate a police vehicle in a manor to lose control. It is better to discontinue a pursuit if it outweighs the benefits of capture
Requirements for emergency vehicle
Lighted lamp of red or blue light visible at 500 feet
Rules for running red light
May proceed past a red signal but only after slowing down as necessary for safe operation
Fully marked vehicle
Permanently mounted roof light and markings on both sides
Semi Marked Vehicle
4 wheel with a permanent flasher to the front, siren and partial police identifications
Unmarked Vehicle
4 wheels no lights or markings
Modified unmarked
portable light and may have a siren

Present location and direction
Description of pursued vehicle
Description and number of occupants
Who calls the pursuit
Primary unit
Who can be in a pursuit
Primary and secondary units are allowed in the pursuit
