A
- presence of endometrial tissue outside uterus

- can occur throughout the body (endometrial tissue->fallopian tubes->pelvis)

- depends on age & desire for pregnancy
- removal of myomas or uterus, tubes, & ovaries (definitive cure)
- shrink ovaries
- GnRH 4-6 mo before surgery
- drug tx: inhibit estrogen production
