General Flight Procedures Flashcards
Raim lost procedures: In controlled airspace ATC advised if: (4)
- RAIM lost period greater 5 mins, even if GPS still providing info
- RAIM not available ATC request GPS distance, or ATC clearance based on GPS distance
- GPS receiver in DR mode or loss of nav function for more than 1 min
- indicated track displacement exceeds 2 nm
Raim status Phraseology
“RAIM FAILURE”
“RAIM RESTORED”
Inflight Fuel Management
PIC ensure amount useable fuel remaining not less than furl proceed airport where safely land with planned fixed reserve remaining upon landing
When advise MINIMUM FUEL
Having committed land at specific airport, PIC calculates any change to existing clearance may result in landing with less than planned fixed reserve
Deviation due weather?
If unable clearance, PAN call specifying details of deviation
Radio Navigation Systems under IFR - RPT and CHTR
1.
GNSS with TSO 129/145/146.196 and 1 ADF or VOR (129 alternate planned must be navigated by use of ground aid navigation and alternate airport approach that use ground-based nav aid, or suitable approach in VMC
OR 2.
2 x GNSS 145/146/196
Navigation Requirement - Flight under IFR - Flight under IFR navigated by: (3)
Flight under IFR navigated by:
- approved area nav system
- use of radio nav system where allowance for +- 9 degrees from last fix, will come within rated coverage of fix (max time interval between fix 2 hours)
- visual reference ground water where enroute radio nav aid not avail - VMC and visual position fix
Aircraft deviations in controlled airspace - advice to ATC
LOC or VOR - half scale deflection or more
NDB - +- 5 degrees or more
DME - +- 2 nm or more
Area Nav System - ANP exceeds RNAV/RNP value
Visual Ref - more than 1 nm
Altimeter Limitations
FL110 not avail area QNH less than 1013 hpa
FL115 when less than 997
FL120 less than 980
VMC - Class C, D, G
C Vis: At or above 10000: Vis 8km Below: 5000 Distance cloud: Horiz: 1500m Vertical 1000 ft
D Vis: 5000m Distance cloud: Horiz: 600m Vertical 1000 ft above, 500 below
G Vis: At or above 10000: Vis 8km Below: 5000 Distance cloud: Horiz: 1500m Vertical 1000 ft EXCEPT BELOW whichever higher or 3000 AMSL or 1000 ft AGL Clear of cloud and in sight of ground or water AND radio must be carried and used on appropriate frequency
IFR Altimeter
Read within 60.
Excess +- 75, = U/S
Two altimeters req?
One must read within 60 - remaining between 60 and 75 - flight under IFR to first point of landing where accuracy checked. Above 60? U/S
One required?
Other placarded U/S and put in maintenance release
Fitted only one?
60-75 first point of landing, then above 60 U/S
Emergency Fuel
land less than fixed reserve
