The chart shows vertical groups and horizontal rows and are identified in the following:
1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A, 7A, 8A (Main Groups/ representative elements)
1A - Alkali metals (except hydrogen) Highly reactive with water, k or RB violate with water.
2A - Alkali Earthmetals
3A, 4A, 5A - no name
6A - chalcogens
7A - Halogens
8A - Noble gases or inert gas (don’t react with anything)
B group elements are the transition metals (includes elements in the third row between all main groups)
Last two detached horizontal rows are also transition metals
Lanthanides - 1st detached row
Actinides - 2nd detached row
Phases:
At room temperature between (20 degrees celsius to 25 degrees celsius) all elements are SOLIDS except for Mercury (in a thermometer) and Bromine are Liquids.
Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Chlorine, Fluorine, Oxygen, and all the Noble Gases are GASES.
