What are the exceptions to the jewelry part of the policy?
- Wristwatch;
- Medical alert bracelet;
- Rings; and
- Necklaces worn discreetly beneath the shift.
Note:
- Plainclothes members can wear conservative earrings.
- Some implants acceptable done by licensed medical practitioner.
- Undercover members may display facial or body piercings with Division Commander approval.

- No false eyelashes or unnaturally colored contact lenses.
- No fingernail polish of any colors.

No longer than midpoint of the tragus of the ear.

What is the female in uniform standard for hair length?
- May be extended over but not below bottom of ear, nor more than 2 inches forward of the ear.
- Ponytails, buns, etc…secured to the head.

What pieces of equipment may the OIC at a riot or disturbance designate as optional?
- Necktie and clasp
- Cross strap

Key point of consideration for the SUMMER Class C uniform.
If Armorskin and long sleeve base shirt are worn, a necktie without tie clasp shall be worn tucked underneath Armorskin without the cross-strap (p. 5 of 12).

- Collar insignia-Troop on LS and both 1 inch from leading edge.
- Service chevrons-1 for every 2 years (1.5” above semicircular cuff edging-only for Troopers).

- Class B-rank insignia: centered between shoulder seam and shoulder strap.
- Class C Super shirt- rank insignia: cut down to 1.5”x1.5” and placed 1/2” from the edge of the shoulder seam.

What is the order of the whistle and accessories?
Member’s right side: chain-key-whistle.

What is the rank and gold braiding layout?
All braiding is 1/2” wide 1/8” spacing (except major):
- Colonel: 4 rows, 1/2” braiding, 1/8” spacing.
- Lt. Colonel: 3 rows, 1/2” braiding, 1/8” spacing.
- Major: 1 row 1/2” braiding (sandwiching) + 1 row 1/4” braiding + 1 row 1/2” braiding, 1/8” spacing.
- Det. Captain: 2 rows, 1/2” braiding, 1/8” spacing.
Note: Detective Lieutenant/ Lieutenant will have the “appropriate gold braiding already affixed.”

While in Class B uniform, what ribbon SHALL members BE ALLOWED to wear over the left breast pocket once they have attained 10 years of service?
Department Service Ribbon (blue/white/blue).
- 1 gold start for each additional 5 years of service onto white section of ribbon.

Key Points to Remember Regarding Salutes.
- When members are both in uniform and covered unless it would interfere with duty performance.
- To Commissioned Officers and Commissioned Officers salute to superior rank.
- Salute Governor, President, and VP.
- Applicable to other police agencies and Armed Forces.

In the “Attention Section,” list procedures when entering a superior officers office and the rank that this is applicable to.
Upon entering the office of Major (and higher), a member shall remove their cover and stand at attention.
