Tx?
ETOH + blocks in the pancreatic duct.
Increased pain when eating.
Bruising around umbilicus and pooling on back- bleeding
Liver damage
Tx-
NPO, NG Suctioning (watch for alkalosis), antacids

Decrease dietary protien
Liver and protein
Protein is broken down to ammonia, liver breaks ammonia to urea, kidneys excrete urea. If liver is broken, ammonia will build up, causing decreased LOC, acts as a sedative.
Lactulose is used to decrease ammonia in blood.
Upper GI and endoscopy
Smoking?
Increases stomach motility and secretions.
Protein pump inhibitors
Suffix?
-Prozole
Crohn’s disease
S/Sx
Tx
Rebound tenderness (means peritoneal inflammation)
Bloody stools
N/V
Low fiber diet
Antibiotics, steroids(for inflammation)
Removal of affected area
Central line positioning
Trendelinberg and/or left
Feet elevated 30-40 degrees

Clotting factors
