What is a gartner duct cyst?
remnant of the mesonephric duct that did not fully regress during development
symptoms of a gartner duct cyst
-mild discomfort
-vaginal pressure
-dyspareunia
-incontinence
-obstructive voiding issues
Describe an office test that can be done to assess for communication between the cyst and bladder/urethra.
inject flourescein into the cyst and the do a cysto.

You suspect a GDC in your patient and perform a cysto after injecting the cyst with flourescein.
What urinary tract involvement could be missed using this technique?
ectopic ureter
Besides full excision, name other ways to treat a Gartner Duct cyst.
-partial excision/unroofing
-aspiration with or without tetracycline injection
-marsupialization
Besides MRI, what imaging modalities can be used to evaluate a gartner duct cyst?
CT urogram
Pelvic ultrasound-vascularity, cyst content, evaluate bladder and rectum
Describe the steps of the tetracycline injection for treatment of Gartner Duct cyst.
-Apply local anesthetic
-Aspirate the cyst, then inject the same volume of 5% tetracycline
- 24 h later re-aspirate the tetracyline until the cyst walls collapse
