A

1.they are vegetatively propagated from the small segments of larger bulbs as sometimes there is absence of flower stalks in some varieties.
2.climate can determine the flower formation and taste as some soft neck varieties form flower stalk under certain conditions.
high temperature with long day and cool temperature during the growing season enables bulbing.
shoot can tolerate a temp of 6 degree celsius where as the bulbs cannot tolerate temp of 12 degree celuis.
